Food & Wine
A delicious journey

THINGS TO DO

  • Taste the most traditional Portuguese food

  • Taste the best wine and liqueur

  • Walk between alleys and narrow streets through the heart of Lisbon

OVERVIEW AND EXPECTATIONS

Food and wine are fundamental items in Portugal. You will embark on a culinary tour that will introduce you to a world of new flavours.

First Stop: 1x Bifana + 1x Beer (pp)

Head to your first stop to start your journey with a traditional Portuguese sandwich known as BIFANA. It is prepared with papo seco (a Portuguese bread roll) and very thin marinated pork cutlets, on which the cooking juices are drizzled… A simple and delicious kick-off! To keep the tradition, you will add an IMPERIAL (beer) to your starter.

Second Stop: 1x Pastel de bacalhau + 1x Glass of Wine (pp)

Continue through the historical centre to feel the true essence of Lisbon. The next taste on the menu is a PASTEL DE BACALHAU. Pastéis de Bacalhau are one of the most popular and traditional foods in Portuguese cuisine. They are famous for good reason; they utilize one of the most signature ingredients in Portuguese gastronomy, the codfish.

Third Stop: 1x Ginginha (pp)

Walk between alleys and narrow streets through some of the traditional neighbourhoods of Lisbon to one of the first establishment in that city to commercialize the drink. GINJINHA or simply Ginja, is a Portuguese liqueur made by infusing ginja berries, (sour cherry) in alcohol (aguardente is used) and adding sugar together with other ingredients.

Fourth Stop: 2x Canned fish + 1x Glass of White House Wine (pp) + Bread & Olives to share

A perfect Portuguese concept, the CANNED FISH. It is a theme bar with a soul, with a menu that embraces all those tins of fish stacked in cabinets around the walls. The walls are covered with an array of fishing tackle: rods, lines, hooks, bait, floats and dozens of other interesting items.

Fifth Stop: 3x Superior Premium Wines + 1x Moscatel 20 years (pp) + Tapas to share

The perfect way to end your experience is in a relaxing and cosmopolitan space in the heart of Lisbon, with a carefully selected range of wines and tapas that leaves no one indifferent. The whole range of wines are from one of the oldest wine producers in Portugal.
